What does Camp look like

Food

Serving healthy & well balanced meals that are kid friendly is our goal. The salad bar is always stocked with fresh fruits & vegetables. Our kitchen staff is ready to work with dietary needs & restrictions so kids (& parents) don’t have to worry about food & just have fun.

UMM is a peanut aware environment.

Buildings

Your child will stay in a newly constructed cottage with up to 9 other children. Each cottage includes:
  • Private Bathrooms
  • 2 Adult Supervisors
  • Air Conditioning
  • Bunk Beds

Caring Adults

Each Summer Staff member is handpicked by our Year Round Staff to ensure an excellent & caring young adult will be leading your child. Our Summer Staff have completed:
  • Interview
  • Reference Check
  • Background Check
  • Two Weeks of Training
  • First Aid/CPR Training
  • Current Lifeguard Certification (for all waterfront staff)

Weather Concerns

Severe Weather

In case of severe weather each staff member is trained on the location of fire & tornado shelters. Campers, led by their leader, will go to the tornado shelter when a tornado watch or warning has been issued & will remain there until the watch or warning has been cancelled.

Hot Weather

Campers are required to wear sunscreen every day at camp and are instructed to re-apply every hour. In the case of extreme heat, staff monitor the water intake of campers to be sure they are hydrated.

Schedule adjustments are made to ensure campers are getting adequate shade & air conditioning during especially warm days.

Camper Release Policy

UMM must have a signed authorization for anyone other than the legal guardian/parent to pick up yout camper.

At the end of a camp program, all campers will be checked out to their parent or guardian with a photo ID.

UMM STORY

Upper Missouri Ministries is located on 203 acres on the shores of Springbrook Dam. The shore line surrounds most of the camp site, which is on a peninsula nestled in the coulee bottom.

This is a perfect setting for kids and families to experience the Love and Grace of Jesus through time in creation and community that allows faith in Christ Jesus to be sparked.

Children (of all ages) are in need of a place to slow down and reconnect with nature and other people. And we all need to reconnect with the Love and Grace of God found in Jesus. Time at Camp UMM provides experiences in services, worship, study, and quiet time. Campers return to their homes, families, and communities with faith in Christ Jesus that is sparked and with tools that will allow them to weather the storms of life.
